GData Open Source .NET client library

Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 6:48 AM

As the first Google client library for the GData API, the .NET library is available as an Open Source project, hosted at Google Project (http://code.google.com/p/google-gdata). Beside a brief introduction page with links to various related newsgroups, there are two useful features for this project. There is a public issue list, where everyone is invited to report problems and bugs, so that they can be tracked and resolved accordingly. Furthermore you have the option to use any Subversion client to enlist into the project.

Since the project became live, over 30 changes were submitted to the Subversion repository, and we will try to continue this pace of new features and bugfixes.

Enlisting into the project directly, compared to the normal binary package download, has primarily the advantage of getting those changes and fixes faster, as a new binary download happens only for larger feature additions.

It is also a requirement if you like to try to enhance the codebase, as this allows you to create patch files that you can submit to us, so that your code might be integrated into future releases.
