Python Developers Guide for Google Calendar

Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 3:04 PM

I'm pleased to announce the addition of Python to the languages covered in the Google Calendar Developers Guide. The guide now includes examples and explanations to help Python developers get up to speed with the Calendar data API and the Python client library.

If you're not using Python, don't worry. The developers guide also provides support specifically for Java, .NET, and PHP. The guide also explains the ReST-based protocol used by all Google data APIs, enabling you to interface directly with the Calendar data API from your favorite programming language. You can head over to the Calendar API group and tell us what you think or discuss the API with other Google Calendar developers.

The Google Data API team is working to create similar developers guides for other services, such as Blogger and Google Spreadsheets. We'll keep you posted as they become available.

Cheers,
-Lane LiaBraaten, The GData Team
