I am very happy to announce that three major features requests have been implemented in the Documents List Data API this week. These are:
- Update document content: You can now issue
PUTrequests to your documents and modify contents, metadata or both. (Issue 277) - Share by programmatically controlling ownership: There is now an ACL feed for each document that you can modify by adding or removing entries. (Issue 311)
- File your documents: You can now create new folders in the API, move documents in and out of folders and have full access to nested folders. (Issue 377, Issue 383)
Please check out the updated documentation and look for these features being implemented in our client libraries soon.

All I'm getting is a 400 when trying to create a folder using the example given in the docs:
http://code.google.com/apis/documents/developers_guide_protocol.html#CreateFolders
Has anybody else had any luck?
There was a slight error in the documentation which has been fixed.

Thanks for that...now hopefully you can fix Issue 70 as well, so we can get the data back out after we put it in!
Noticed that the Zend GData stuff was updated last week but the documentation mentions nothing about the ACL manipulation. Was this implemented?
The new features of the DocumentsList API have not been implemented yet. But it is on our list! Thanks.

FYI: I have added these to the PHP client library issue tracker:
http://framework.zend.com/issues/browse/ZF-4974
http://framework.zend.com/issues/browse/ZF-4975
http://framework.zend.com/issues/browse/ZF-4976
Are there any plans to have this API work like the spreed sheet one? The editor is great, I like the ability to add items to my list, but if I could get the editor and edit the documents inside other pages that would be great.
thank you
